Potomac is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Maryland with a population of nearly 50,000. The land was first settled in 1714 as a 600-acre land grant. Named after the nearby Potomac River, the area benefits from its proximity to Washington D.C., where many of its residents have found employment.
